This paper discusses the presence of the Spanish language in institutions of the Federal This paper discusses the presence of the Spanish language in institutions of the Federal Network of Education, Science and Technology, the special status of their campuses and the possible forms of work that are adopted in the network and articulates it with a reflection on gestures glotopoliticians of the national State, since the network, although autonomous, is under the influence of the directives of the federal government, from where its financing comes. It is also the objective of this article to demonstrate that the specificity of the Federal Network allows different ways of working with the Spanish language, through the exposition and discussion of two practices carried out in classes of that language. It is concluded that the special configuration of the network is, at the same time, its strength and its fragility, since the absence of a linguistic policy in these institutions and of a national plan of linguistic policy does not guarantee multilingualism in the Federal Network, nor does it guarantee a permanence of the current scenario with the Spanish language.
