Influência do SARS-COV-2 no sistema reprodutor humano

Resumo: | O SARS-CoV-2 é o agente causador da pandemia do COVID-19, sendo considerado um vírus respiratório, pois possui um tropismo pelo pulmão, entretanto, sua presença foi evidenciada em diversos órgãos, incluindo o trato reproduto. Outros vírus também já foram identificados no sistema reprodutor humano, como exemplo o vírus da caxumba, da imunodeficiência humana, papilomavírus humano, entre outros. A Enzima Conversora de Angiotensina 2 (ECA2) é utilizada pelo SARS-CoV-2 para adentrar as células e, além dos pulmões, ela está presente em outros órgãos como os testículos, ovários, oócitos, vagina, útero e placenta, sugerindo que esses órgãos também podem sofrer infecção pelo SARS-CoV-2. Achados patológicos foram identificados em testículos de homens que foram a óbito por COVID-19, além de identificada epididimite em pacientes internados com COVID-19. Sabe-se que as mulheres alcançam depuração viral primeiro que os homens, porém, durante a gestação, o SAR-CoV-2 infecta a placenta. Esse agente etiológico já foi encontrado no líquido amniótico e no neonato. Devido a sua fisiopatologia, ele potencializa o risco de trombose nas gestantes, fator que pode levar a partos prematuros e comprometimento da gestação. Apesar da temática ser ainda muito recente, devido as condições vivenciadas estarem enquadradas numa crise de saúde pública global, foi possível perceber que existe relação da infecção com SARS-CoV-2 e o trato reprodutor humano.
