Resumo: Esse trabalho descreve a arquitetura de um ambiente compartilhado para educação colaborativa usando grafos conceituais. A abordagem implica a implementação de ferramentas de software para edição, busca, navegação e gerenciamento na Web. O ambiente do sistema provê as seguintes propriedades gerais: ambiente visual do conhecimento engloba todas as áreas da educação, ambiente de aprendizagem colaborativa e acesso a Internet; facilitando a concepção de uma comunidade virtual, onde o aprendizado colaborativo na Web é natural. Hoje a Internet representa o maior avanço tecnológico desde o aparecimento da imprensa a 500 anos atrás [DRA.00]. Em breve, uma grande parte da instrução disponibilizada à sociedade será acessada via Internet. Apesar do surgimento de vários sistemas para educação a distância, apenas alguns deles escapam do paradigma behaviorista clássico [SKI.58], onde o aprendiz é considerado um mero receptor da informação e não um construtor do conhecimento [JON.95]. Para romper com o paradigma educacional da “mudança de página” e a avaliação de múltipla escolha, o projetista dos ambientes educacionais devem considerar a mudança do paradigma educacional na concepção do ambiente de aprendizagem.

The approach implies the implementation of software tools for editing, searching, navigation, and management. The system's environment provides the following general properties: visual environment of the knowledge, collaborative learning environment and Internet access; facilitating the conception of a virtual community where the collaborative learning on the Web is natural. Today the Internet represents the biggest technological advancement since the appearance of print five hundred years ago [DRA.00]. In brief, a large part of the instruction disclosed to the society will be accessed via the Web in the near future. Despite the great appeal for the implementation of long distance education systems, only a few of them have escaped the classic behaviorist paradigm [SKI.58] where the learner is considered a mere receptor of the information and not a constructor of knowledge [JON.95].
