EducaÃÃo sexual entre o pÃblico e o privado: a vida de prostitutas do centro de Fortaleza

Resumo: The goal is to comprehend how the knowledge related to sex education, acquired and used by sex workers in their professional activity, interferes with their private lives, trying to understand if this knowledge is used with their significant others, when sex involves love and affection in the sex workerâs life outside her workplace. The concept of prostitution, which is, the way that is administrated, is different in different cultures and countries. Prostitution can be found in various places: streets, poor neighborhoods, rich neighborhoods, brothels that accept college girls, stores that make their female employees have surgeries, like liposuction or breast implants. Thatâs why our view as a researcher isnât on prostitution as a whole, but in a specific way. Itâs about female prostitution, according to the lives of sex workers in brothels in downtown Fortaleza, particularly Gata Garota. Therefore, we must first begin there, which is whatâs called âpublicâ (professional life), so we can get into their private lives. My experience as a researcher starts in a scientific initiation project, in which the subject was the educational practices in brothels in downtown Fortaleza. That made possible to notice a reality, unknown until then, full of tabus, which brought with it a world of new knowledge, acquired throughout this journey. This researchâs intent is to know which layers of sex education, learnt and practiced in the professional lives of sex workers, interfere in their private lives. The study was made with the methodological procedure of a qualitative research, of ethnographic nature. Semi-structured interviews (informal conversations) were used as research instruments, which resulted in oral sources, besides field diaries, as another way to collect data. This way, their memories are used as an essential speech element, with which there was an intention of reconstructing a phase or aspect of the sex workersâ lives in downtown Fortaleza. It was concluded that sex workers, in their workplace, take care of their bodies, especially in ways related to sex education with their clients, and most of the women interviewed reflect that attitude in their private lives, with love involved. It was noticed that these sex workers put on âmasksâ, in order to get through a workday. It was observed that it was hard for them to maintain long-term relationships with their significant others, and it was explicit in their faces that they craved affection.

Procura-se, entender se esses saberes relacionados Ãs prÃticas sexuais e aos cuidados com o corpo sÃo utilizados com seus companheiros e companheiras, quando a atividade sexual passa a envolver afetos e sentimentos na vida da prostituta fora do ambiente de trabalho. O conceito de prostituiÃÃo, ou seja, a forma como essa à administrada, diferencia-se em torno de cada cultura de um determinado paÃs. Existem vÃrios espaÃos de prostituiÃÃo: rua, zona de baixo meretrÃcio, zonas elitizadas, casas que aceitam garotas universitÃrias, estabelecimentos que exigem das mulheres que ali trabalham o processo cirÃrgico, como a lipoaspiraÃÃo ou mesmo a inserÃÃo de silicone. Por isso, a nossa visÃo de pesquisadores nÃo focaliza a prostituiÃÃo de modo geral, mas sim uma forma especÃfica de manifestaÃÃo. Trata-se da prostituiÃÃo feminina, baseada na vida de garotas de programas nos prostÃbulos localizados no centro da cidade de Fortaleza, particularmente o Gata Garota. Portanto, todas as conclusÃes devem ser consideradas a princÃpio nesse ambiente, o que se chama de pÃblico (vida profissional), para entÃo adentrar a vida privada dessas garotas (vida Ãntima). A experiÃncia como pesquisadora comeÃa em um projeto de iniciaÃÃo cientÃfica cujo objeto de estudo eram as prÃticas educativas nos prostÃbulos do centro da cidade de Fortaleza. Isto fez com que se notasse uma realidade, atà entÃo, desconhecida, repleta de tabus, e que proporcionou um mundo de conhecimentos novos, adquiridos ao longo dessa caminhada. Esta pesquisa traz como problematizaÃÃo saber quais as formas de educaÃÃo sexuais apreendidas e praticadas na vida profissional das prostitutas interfere em seu Ãmbito privado. O estudo trouxe, como procedimentos metodolÃgicos, uma pesquisa qualitativa de cunho etnogrÃfico. Como instrumentos de pesquisa foram realizadas entrevistas semi-estruturadas, conversas informais, que resultaram na produÃÃo de fontes orais, alÃm do diÃrio de campo, como subsÃdio para o registro das informaÃÃes. Dessa forma, tambÃm se utiliza à memÃria como elemento essencial nos discursos, em que se teve como intuito reconstituir uma fase ou aspecto da vida das profissionais do sexo do centro da cidade de Fortaleza. Conclui-se, assim, que as profissionais do sexo, em seu ambiente de trabalho se utilizam de cuidados com o corpo, principalmente na questÃo da educaÃÃo sexual com seus clientes e a maioria das entrevistadas refletem essa atitude em sua vida particular, cercada por amores. PÃde ser constatado que essas garotas de programas usam espÃcie de âmÃscarasâ, para enfrentar mais um dia de jornada.
