Resumo: The development of technologies to increase stand establishment efficiency and seed vigor, as well as to maximize profits, is of fundamental importance for the sustainability of agriculture. Products based on humic substances, such as humic acids, have been recently used in Brazilian agriculture to produce seedlings with high vigor, which positively influences the establishment of the initial stand. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the effect of treatment of corn seeds with a commercial humic acid-based product, Humykos® (18% of humic acid content), on germination and seedling vigor. The treatments consisted of six doses (0, 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 mL 100 kg-1 seed) of Humykos®, and the treated seeds were analyzed for germination and vigor (first count, emergence, emergence speed index, length, and dry mass of shoots and roots). Our results show that humic acid promotes greater seedling growth and increased shoot dry mass in corn; in addition, it has a positive influence on the emergence speed index up to a dose 158 mL 100 kg-1 seeds.

Universidade Federal Rural do Semi-Árido2016-12-02info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.ufersa.edu.br/caatinga/article/view/556310.1590/1983-21252017v30n116rcREVISTA CAATINGA; Vol. 30 No. 1 (2017); 149-154Revista Caatinga; v. 30 n. 1 (2017); 149-1541983-21250100-316Xreponame:Revista Caatingainstname:Universidade Federal Rural do Semi-Árido (UFERSA)instacron:UFERSAenghttps://periodicos.ufersa.edu.br/caatinga/article/view/5563/pdfRodrigues, Lennis AfraireAlves, Charline ZaratinRego, Carlos Henrique QueirozSilva, Tiago Roque Benetoli daSilva, Josué Bispo dainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2023-07-20T10:38:51Zoai:ojs.periodicos.ufersa.edu.br:article/5563Revistahttps://periodicos.ufersa.edu.br/index.php/caatinga/indexPUBhttps://periodicos.ufersa.edu.br/index.php/caatinga/oaipatricio@ufersa.edu.br|| caatinga@ufersa.edu.br1983-21250100-316Xopendoar:2024-04-29T09:46:22.914634Revista Caatinga - Universidade Federal Rural do Semi-Árido (UFERSA)true
