Resumo: This article presents the memory of the street market in José Gonçalves, Vitória da Conquista district, through the narratives of the residents. The street fair represented a time of prosperous trade, with circulation of people and goods, but some social and economic factors contributed to the end of it: the drought that hit the district in the 1980s, the coffee growing in the municipality of Vitória da Conquista, the coffee harvest that brought the illusion of a more profitable work, among others. Currently, this street market exists only in the collective memory of the population that lived and is driven to narrate these remembrances

A feira representou um tempo de comércio próspero, com circulação de pessoas e mercadorias, porém, alguns fatores sociais e econômicos contribuíram para o fim da feira: a seca que atingiu o município na década de 1980, a cafeicultura que se fortaleceu no município de Vitória da Conquista, a colheita do café que trazia a ilusão de um trabalho mais rentável, entre outros. Atualmente, essa feira existe somente na memória coletiva da população que viveu e é impulsionada a narrar essas lembrançasEste artículo presenta la memoria del mercado callejero en José Gonçalves, distrito de Vitória da Conquista, a través de las narrativas de los residentes. La feria de la calle representó una época de comercio próspero, con circulación de personas y bienes, pero algunos factores sociales y económicos contribuyeron a su finalización: la sequía que afectó al distrito en la década de 1980, el cultivo del café en el municipio de Vitória da Conquista, la cosecha de café que trajo la ilusión de un trabajo más rentable,entre otros.
