Resumo: The Semantic Fields Model is a proposal presented by Rômulo Lins as a methodological model and a theory of knowledge. The MCS intends to explain how meanings are produced for objects. As the production of meaning is a traditional debate in many areas, we were interested in understanding the foundations of MCS in dialogue with Wittgenstein's philosophy, especially in its second phase, due to the theoretical improvement achieved with its maturity. In terms of research material, texts by Rômulo Lins and Wittgenstein's two main works – the Tractatus Lógico-Philosophicus and the Philosophical Investigations – constitute the basis, in addition to the contribution of secondary readings about their work. In the findings we have elements of approximation and discussion of nuances that allow us to affirm the scope of our objective.

En los hallazgos tenemos elementos de aproximación y discusión de matices que nos permiten afirmar el alcance de nuestro objetivo.O Modelo dos Campos Semânticos é uma proposta apresentada por Rômulo Lins como um modelo metodológico e uma teoria do conhecimento, que pretende explicar como são produzidos significados para os objetos. Sendo a produção de significado um debate tradicional de muitas áreas, despertou-nos interesse em compreender os fundamentos deste modelo em diálogo com a filosofia de Wittgenstein, sobretudo em sua segunda fase, devido ao aprimoramento teórico conseguido com sua maturidade. Em termos de material de pesquisa, excertos de textos de Rômulo Lins e das duas principais obras de Wittgenstein – o Tractatus Lógico-Philosophicus e as Investigações Filosóficas ­– constituem a base, somados à contribuição de leituras secundárias a respeito da obra de ambos. Nos achados têm-se elementos de aproximação e discussão de nuances que permitem afirmar o alcance do objetivo.
