EXTRATO Hidroetanólico de Erva-de-santa-maria (chenopodium Ambrosioides L.) no Controle do Carrapato de Bovinos [rhipicephalus (boophilus) Microplus Canestrini, 1888 (acari: Ixodidae)]

Resumo: Aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the wormseed ( Chenopodium ambrosioides L.) hydroethanolic ex tract in cattle tick [ Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus Canestrini, 1888 (Acari: Ixodidae)] from o ctober to n ovember 2010. Two surveys were conducted : in vivo and in vitro . At first, we used 18 crossbred h ol stein cattle were di stributed into three groups of six animals each. One group was treated with 0,025% amitraz, the second group was treated with a wormseed hydroethanolic ex tract , corresponding to 5.0% of plant and the third group was treated with the veh icle used to prepare the extract above. For the evaluation were counted engorged ticks, length equal to or greater than 4.5 mm before ( - 3, - 2 and - 1 day) and after application of the products ( + 1, + 3, + 7, + 9, + 16 and +21 day). The solution containing 5.0% wormseed hydroethanolic ex tract showed a partial control of ticks, being 52.50%, 60.00% and 56.25% at days + 1, + 9 and + 16 , after application, respectively. A mitraz presented at days + 1, + 3 and + 7 , after application, 55.95%, 67.86% and 66.67% effective agai nst ticks engorged females, respectively. The solution of the vehicle (propylene glycol 5% , ethanol 25% and distilled water) performed at days + 1, + 3 and + 16 , after application, efficiency of 40.54%, 62.16% and 63.51% respectively. In in vitro experiments evaluated the effectiveness of different concentrations obtained by maceration of wormseed hydroethanolic ex tract on posture and hatchability of eggs of ticks, using the adult immersion test. The treatments consisted of distilled water , vehicle solution ( consisting of 5% propylene glycol, ethanol 25% and 70% distilled water) and solutions containing 5.0%, 10% and 25% wormseed hydroethanolic ex tract . The ticks were distributed in homogeneous groups, by size, level of engorgement and weight were 10 ticks per group (average 2.0 g) and were subjected to an immersion for five minutes in each of the products tested. The solutions containing 5%, 10% and 25% wormseed hydroethanolic ex tract had average efficiencies 13.27%, 22.56% and 31.87% respectively on the postu re and hatchability of eggs. The solution of the vehicle had an efficiency of 10.48%. Based on these results, C. ambrosioides L. , at the concentrations tested, does not present significant potential for the control of the strains researched Rhipicephalus ( Boophilus) microplus , although they showed toxic effects. Further experiments are needed to evaluate the acaricidal activity of other 10 extracts and essential oils of C. ambrosioides L. , on adults and larvae of R hipicephalus (B.) microplus , and evaluate the toxicity of these products in cattle

Foram conduzidas duas pesquisas sendo uma in vivo e outra in vitro. Na primeira, foram utilizados 18 bovinos mestiços da raça holandesa, distribuídos em três grupos de seis animais cada. Um grupo foi tratado com amitraz, o segundo grupo foi tratado com solução de extrato hidroetanólico, correspondendo a 5,0% de planta fresca e o terceiro grupo foi tratado com o veículo usado para preparar o extrato anterior. Para avaliação foram contadas fêmeas ingurgitadas de carrapatos (teleóginas), com comprimento igual ou superior a 4,5 mm, antes (-3, -2 e -1 dia) e após a aplicação dos produtos (+1, +3, +7, +9, +16 e +21 dia). A solução contendo 5,0% de erva-de-santa-maria apresentou um controle parcial de teleóginas, sendo de 52,50%, 60,00% e 56,25% nos dias +1, +9 e +16, após a aplicação, respectivamente. Amitraz 0,025% apresentou nos dias +1, +3 e +7, após a aplicação, 55,95%, 67,86% e 66,67% de eficácia contra fêmeas ingurgitadas de carrapatos, respectivamente. O veículo (propilenoglicol 5%, etanol 25% e água destilada) apresentou nos dias +1, +3 e +16, após a aplicação, eficácia de 40,54%, 62,16% e 63,51%, respectivamente. Na experimentação in vitro avaliou-se a eficácia de diferentes concentrações obtidas por maceração de erva-de-santa-maria sobre a postura e a eclodibilidade de ovos, usando-se o teste de imersão de teleóginas. Os tratamentos foram constituídos por água destilada, veículo (constituido de propilenoglicol a 5%, etanol a 25% e água destilada) e soluções contendo 5,0%, 10% e 25% de extrato hidroetanólico de erva-de-santa-maria. As teleóginas foram distribuidas em grupos homogêneos, por tamanho, nível de ingurgitamento e peso, sendo 10 teleóginas por grupo (média de 2,0 g) e foram submetidas a uma imersão por cinco minutos em cada um dos produtos testados. As soluções contendo 5%; 10% e 25% de erva-de-santa-maria apresentaram eficácias médias de 13,27%; 22,56% e 31,87%, respectivamente, sobre a postura e eclodibilidade de ovos. O veículo apresentou uma eficácia de 10,48%. Com base nos resultados obtidos, C. ambrosioides L., nas concentrações testadas, não apresenta potencial significativo para o controle das cepas pesquisadas de Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus, apesar de demonstrarem efeitos tóxicos. São necessários novos experimentos para avaliar a atividade acaricida de outros extratos e do óleo essencial de C. ambrosioides L., em adultos e em larvas de R.
