Resumo: This dissertation studies the development and exploitation of the coastal areas from the tourist area, as well as its different characteristics in the society, Economy, Environment and Government of the coastal cities of Vitória Espírito Santo in Brazil, and Bahia de Banderas, in the state of Nayarit, Mexico. The work is presented in the first chapters of the geographical approaches to tourism, the historical, and the approximations these two sciences, as part of the development of a comparative descriptive study. The concept of the coastal space is studied particularly from the geographic point of view with the contributions of the different authors of Geography and Tourism. Research, development and data collection of each of the coastal areas of Banderas and Vitória Bay is presented, showing its location and particularities from the Touristic-Geographic area. This work is complemented with data from the sources of Governmental and civil, local, national and international sources that are related to the tourist activities of each Coastal space, once analyzed each space is presented the result of the accomplishment of the descriptive comparative study between these two coastal spaces, the main model being the life cycle model of Richard Butler's CVDT life destinations, which allowed to reveal the positive and negative variants these two coastal spaces as a tourist destination and to understand the current situation is the which is found, as well as the general structure that allow its variation.

El trabajo presenta en los primeros capítulos los abordajes geográficos con el turismo, históricos, e aproximaciones entre estas dos ciencias, como parte de la elaboración de un estudio descriptivo. Se estudia particularmente el concepto del espacio litoral desde la óptica geográfica con aportaciones de diferentes autores de la Geografía y el Turismo. Es presentada la investigación, el desarrollo y la obtención de datos de cada uno de los espacios litorales de Bahía de Banderas y Vitória, mostrando su ubicación y particularidades desde el ámbito Turístico- Geográfico. Este trabajo es complementado con datos a partir de las aportaciones de fuentes Gubernamentales y civiles, locales, nacionales e internacionales que tienen relación con la actividades turística de cada espacio Costero, una vez analizado cada espacio se presenta el resultado de la realización del estudio comparativo descriptivo entre estos dos espacios litorales, siendo el método principal el modelo de los ciclos de vida de los destinos de vida CVDT de Richard Butler, que permitió revelar las variantes positivas y negativas de los dos espacios costeros como destino turístico, y entender la situación actual en la que se encuentran, así como la estructura general que permite su variación.Esta dissertação estuda o aproveitamento e o desenvolvimento dos espaços litorâneos no âmbito do turismo, assim como suas diferentes características na sociedade, na economia, no meio ambiente e no governo das cidades costeiras de Vitória, no estado do Espírito Santo, Brasil, e de Bahia de Banderas, no estado de Nayarit, México. O trabalho apresenta nos primeiros capítulos as abordagens geográficas sobre o turismo enquanto fenômeno, históricos e aproximações entre essas duas ciências, como partes da elaboração de um estudo descritivo e analítico. Estuda-se, particularmente, o conceito de espaço litorâneo a partir da visão geográfica com aportes de diferentes autores da Geografia e do Turismo. São apresentados na pesquisa o desenvolvimento e a obtenção dos dados de cada um dos espaços litorâneos de Bahia de Banderas e Vitória, mostrando sua localização e particularidades desde o âmbito TurísticoGeográfico. Este trabalho é complementado com dados das fontes governamentais e civis, locais, nacionais e internacionais que têm relação com a atividade turística de cada espaço litorâneo/praiano.
