Resumo: This work investigates the historical series of pesticide consumption in Brazil and the types of illnesses related to their exposure to workers' health, statistically analyzing the hypothesis of a relationship between pesticide consumption and the appearance of symptoms. The results evidenced in the investigation confirm the hypothesis and point to the need for improvements in guidance on the safe use of agrochemicals and in public policies on prevention and health, which ensure safer work for people, in addition to more active inspection, especially in the states of the Southeast Region.
