Resumo: In this article we discuss the formation of the Latin American School of Agroecology (ELAA), originating from rural workers' movements, within a macrosocial perspective. We argue that the ELAA's pedagogical-labor dynamics illustrates both advances and current limits of the scientific-technical concepts in the international expansion of capitalism. Thus, we approach the theme by the Marxist theory of dependency, highlighting the conflict between the primary-export matrix of the business class faced with the autonomous projects of the working class on the continent.
