Resumo: The article presents reflections about Minka, a term that, in the Quechua language, refers to collective labor and other ancient practices of Andean peoples that give meaning to community life. After addressing the etymology of the word, we indicate research that shows that, in current historical times, collective work constitutes a fundamental element in the production processes of human existence. We comment about rural communities in the state of Bahia asserting that contradictorily we find within the capitalist mode of production, sociability based on solidarity and the common good. Keywords: Minka; rural communities; collective work; work-education.

Palavras-chaves: Minka; povos do campo; trabalho coletivo; trabalho-educação.  ABEC2024-02-22info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdftext/htmlhttps://periodicos.uff.br/trabalhonecessario/article/view/5995210.22409/tn.v21i47.59952Revista Trabalho Necessário; v. 22 n. 47 (2024): Trabalho, história e memória dos povos de "Nuestra América" - Tomo 2 ; 01-231808-799X10.22409/tn.v22i47reponame:Trabalho necessárioinstname:Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF)instacron:UFFporhttps://periodicos.uff.br/trabalhonecessario/article/view/59952/36345https://periodicos.uff.br/trabalhonecessario/article/view/59952/36346Copyright (c) 2024 Revista Trabalho Necessáriohttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessAndrade, Renné da GlóriaOliveira Santos , Marisa Santos Alves , Ana Elizabeth 2024-02-22T18:53:17Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/59952Revistahttps://periodicos.uff.br/trabalhonecessarioPUBhttps://periodicos.uff.br/trabalhonecessario/oairevistatrabalhonecessario@gmail.com1808-799X1808-799Xopendoar:2024-02-22T18:53:17Trabalho necessário - Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF)false
