Resumo: This work seeks to represent the cases, deaths and fatality rate of the 5 waves of Covid-19 that were released by the State Department of Health of Rio de Janeiro (SES-RJ) through the technique of anamorphism. Covid-19 is a disease acquired by the SARS-CoV-2 virus that has high transmissibility and new variants that emerged through mutations that occurred in different parts of the world during the pandemic declared in 2020 by the World Health Organization (WHO). The State of Rio de Janeiro had the record of five variants of Covid-19 that provided different spatial records to the municipalities of Rio de Janeiro that are observed over time. The ScapeToad software was used to generate these maps, which are a type of cartogram that represent the areas through contiguous distortions with the consideration of quantitative values. The results demonstrate that the Gamma and Omicron variants presented the highest records over time, allowing spatial analyzes about the disease and the implemented health actions. Keywords: COVID-19; WAVES; VARIANTS; ANAMORPHISM.
