QUILOMBOLA SCHOOL EDUCATION AND GEOGRAPHY TEACHING AT VILA NOVA JUTAÍ – BREU BRANCO – PA

Resumo: | In a country characterized by ethnic-racial diversity, with a large legacy of prejudice and basic rights denial, the projection of an alternative, affirmative teaching is made necessary, one that intertwines historical and everyday knowledge and that develops new critical stances out of quilombola voices, which are almost always silenced. This paper approaches formal school education, specifically Geography teaching in school education at the remaining quilombola community of Vila Nova Jutaí, at the Breu Branco municipality, in Pará (PA) state, Brazil. Thus, the project “Nós Propomos” (“We Propose”), developed at the community’s school, sought to identify which were the main sociospacial issues within the community. The research was based on bibliographical surveys, project execution, questionnaires and an interview survey. Geography, as a science and a school subject, has a historical legacy of contributing to citizenship building processes through the critical analysis skills it develops among students about geographical space, giving them the opportunity to better understand sociospacial dynamics and changes. Education.En un país marcado por la diversidad étnico-racial, con un amplio legado de perjuicios y negación de los derechos básicos, es necesaria la proyección de una educación diferenciada y afirmativa, que se entrelace con saberes históricos y cotidianos y que desarrolle posturas críticas a partir de las voces de los quilombolas, casi siempre silenciadas. El artículo aborda la educación escolar formal, especialmente sobre la enseñanza de geografía en la educación escolar quilombola en la comunidad remanente quilombola de Vila Nova Jutaí - Breu Branco - PA. Por lo tanto, se desarrolló en la escuela de la comunidad el proyecto “Nós Propomos”, que buscó identificar cuáles son los principales problemas socioespaciales de la comunidad. La investigación se basó en levantamiento bibliográfico, ejecución del proyecto, aplicación de cuestionarios y formularios de entrevistas. La geografía como ciencia y disciplina escolar tiene un legado histórico de contribución al proceso de construcción de la ciudadanía, a través del análisis crítico que desarrolla en los estudiantes con respecto al espacio geográfico, dándoles la oportunidad de entender las dinámicas y transformaciones socioespaciales. Educación.Em um país marcado pela diversidade étnico-racial, com um extenso legado de preconceitos e negação de direitos básicos, é necessária a projeção de uma educação diferenciada e afirmativa, que se entrelace com saberes históricos e cotidianos e que desenvolva posturas críticas a partir das vozes dos quilombolas, quase sempre silenciadas. O artigo aborda a educação escolar formal, especificamente sobre o ensino de geografia na educação escolar quilombola na comunidade remanescente quilombola de Vila Nova Jutaí – Breu Branco – PA. Assim, foi desenvolvido na escola da comunidade o projeto “Nós Propomos”, que buscou identificar quais são os principais problemas socioespaciais da comunidade. A pesquisa foi baseada em levantamento bibliográfico, execução do projeto, aplicação de questionários e formulário de entrevistas. A geografia enquanto ciência e disciplina escolar tem um legado histórico de contribuição ao processo de construção da cidadania, através da análise crítica que desenvolve nos estudantes a respeito do espaço geográfico, oportunizando-os a compreenderem as dinâmicas e transformações socioespaciais.
