THE VILA RUBIM MARKET: landscape between discourses of valorization and devaluation

Resumo: The present work intends to propose an analysis on the processes of attribution of meanings of valorization and devaluation through the landscape, specifically in the Vila Rubim Market, in Vitória, Espírito Santo. Taking into account the important role that the media plays in the construction of discourses that can unfold in spatial meanings, a series of collected news supported the selection of some events as remarkable in the processes of construction of an imaginary about the place, in the which are identified simultaneous movements of valorization and devaluation of the landscape. Therefore, we sought to analyze the motivations that supported the mobilization of these discourses that also appear to justify effective changes in the landscape.

Teniendo en cuenta el importante papel que juegan los medios de comunicación en la construcción de discursos que posiblemente se despliegan en significados espaciales, una serie de noticias que sustentaron la selección de algunos hechos como procesos destacables de construcción de un imaginario sobre el lugar, en los cuales se identifican, en particular, movimientos simultáneos de valorización y desvalorización del paisaje. Por lo tanto, buscamos analizar las motivaciones que sustentaron la movilización de estos discursos que también parecen justificar cambios efectivos en el paisaje.  O presente trabalho realiza uma análise sobre os processos de atribuição de significados de valorização e desvalorização através da paisagem, especificamente no Mercado da Vila Rubim, em Vitória, Espírito Santo. Levamos em consideração o importante papel que a mídia desempenha na construção de discursos que se desdobram, possivelmente, em significações espaciais. Foram, então, levantadas uma série de notícias que embasaram a seleção de alguns eventos como processos marcantes de construção de um imaginário sobre o local, nos quais se identificam de forma notável, movimentos simultâneos de valorização e desvalorização da paisagem.
