THE METROPOLIS UNDER THE FOCUS OF THE PERIPHERAL VOICE: rap in Geography teaching

Resumo: The discussion about the metropolis is present in the way of thinking about a part of the geographic space where most people live in peripheral areas. Several ways of analysis can be made to understand the metropolis and one of them can be through music. Rap within the teaching of Geography is a possibility to work with the contents and concepts in the organization of geographic knowledge. In this way, the present text seeks to approach rap as a didactic-pedagogical resource to work with contents about the metropolis in the teaching of Geography. The qualitative methodology is based on the interpretation and analysis of the rap Boca de Lobo by the singer Crioulo, based on the lyrics and the video clip. It seeks to use rap as a form of analysis and discussion, contributing to education and the promotion of critical thinking, dialoguing with geographic knowledge. As a result, rap enables a form of art expression that can make the student re-signify the world in which he lives, building explanations through its cultural tools allied to geographic knowledge.

Se pueden hacer varias formas de análisis para entender la metrópolis y una de ellas puede ser a través de la música. El rap dentro de la enseñanza de la Geografía es una posibilidad de trabajar los contenidos y conceptos en la organización del conocimiento geográfico. De esta forma, el presente texto busca abordar el rap como recurso didáctico-pedagógico para trabajar contenidos sobre la metrópolis en la enseñanza de la Geografía. La metodología cualitativa se basa en la interpretación y análisis del rap Boca de Lobo del cantante Crioulo, por medio de la letra y el videoclip. Se busca utilizar el rap como forma de análisis y discusión, contribuyendo a la educación y promoción del pensamiento crítico, dialogando con los saberes geográficos. Como resultado, el rap posibilita una forma de expresión artística que puede hacer que el alumno resignifique el mundo en el que vive, construyendo explicaciones a través de sus herramientas culturales aliadas al conocimiento geográfico.A discussão sobre a metrópole se faz presente na forma de pensar uma porção do espaço geográfico onde grande parte das pessoas vive nas áreas periféricas. Várias formas de análise podem ser feitas para compreender a metrópole e uma delas pode ser pela música. O rap dentro do ensino de Geografia é uma possibilidade de trabalhar com os conteúdos e conceitos na organização do conhecimento geográfico. Desta maneira, o presente texto busca abordar o rap como um recurso didático-pedagógico para trabalhar os conteúdos sobre metrópole no ensino de Geografia. A metodologia qualitativa está baseada na interpretação e análise do rap Boca de Lobo do cantor Crioulo, a partir da letra e do videoclipe. Busca-se utilizar o rap como forma de análise e discussão contribuindo para a educação e a promoção do pensamento crítico, dialogando com o saber geográfico.
