Resumo: This paper provides some considerations about the transformations undergone in the Zona Portuária of Rio de Janeiro throughout its history, with emphasis on the changes that have occurred in the last decade due to the sporting events hosted in the city. And how these transformations have created landscapes staged to meet the appeals of tourism at the expense of socio-spatial inequality that still persists in this area of the city.
