This research addresses the effects of leadership in the permanence of the servers in the institution in which they work, carried out by a case study with professionals from a public institution of the State of Rio de Janeiro. The methodology concerning the nature is basic, with a descriptive purpose, done through an analysis of data in a quantitative way of a search field. To address the influence of leadership on the behavior of servers within public organizations, the present study discusses the changes and the constitutional principles of public organizations, the motivation of servers and the types of leadership more used in the contemporary world, as charismatic leaders, empowering and transformational. This study presents results in low affective relationship, normative and instrumental servers with the institution, a low existence of headship and, leadership finally, a strong correlation between high index servers that aim to leave the institution and the sluggish rate of heads with leadership.
