Resumo: | This paper addresses aspects of the change in organizational culture of a large Brazilian company's energy business. Faced with a backdrop of growing awareness of society concerning the socio-environmental issues, the company undertook a review of its organizational values and seeks to influence the development of its corporate culture. The company hopes that the concern with the HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) becomes part of the organizational culture. The objective of this study is to gather information that could assist the company in this process, specifically in the provision of resources for training on HSE. The survey sought to identify the alignment of a group of newly hired employees to the value of "Respect Life" within HSE in the company. This study gains importance by providing information about the alignment of a group of employees on a particular organizational value. The development of theories or models to identify cultural backgrounds is now a demand from companies. This theme challenges the researchers to produce work engaged in bringing answers to the practical organizational and methodological choices. We carried out a bibliometric survey and a literature review to understand the object of study and generate a theoretical reference base capable of supporting research and highlights key definitions and concepts about the themes. Through the application of closed questionnaires, qualitative variables were adjusted to represent quantitative series, allowing a more objective analysis of subjective aspects of human nature. This made it possible to measure and classify the gaps between the perception of employees and the desired behavior with respect to aspects of HSE. The results were presented graphically, showing the percentage of alignment of the group studied in relation to HSE and its subitems. We also performed a comparative analysis between the different positions surveyed. The research concluded that there are gaps between desired behaviors and perceptions as measured by employees. For the sample, it was found that the security sub-item has the highest degree of alignment, second comes the subitem environment and, finally, health. The classification of gaps allowed to conclude what should be the focus of HSE training for this group. |

Frente a um cenário de crescente conscientização da sociedade com relação às questões sócio-ambientais, a empresa realizou uma revisão dos valores organizacionais declarados e busca influenciar o desenvolvimento de sua cultura corporativa. A empresa deseja que a preocupação com o SMS (Segurança, Meio Ambiente e Saúde) faça parte da cultura organizacional. O objetivo deste trabalho é reunir informações que possam auxiliar a empresa no processo de mudança, especificamente no aporte de recursos para treinamentos em SMS. A pesquisa buscou identificar o alinhamento de um grupo de empregados recém contratados ao valor Respeito à Vida que trata do SMS na empresa. Este trabalho ganha importância por que fornece informações sobre o alinhamento de um grupo de empregados sobre um determinado valor organizacional. A elaboração de teorias ou modelos que permitam identificar perfis culturais é hoje uma demanda das empresas. Este tema desafia os pesquisadores a produzir trabalhos engajados em trazer respostas para a prática organizacional com escolhas metodológicas bem fundamentadas. Foi realizado um levantamento bibliométrico e uma revisão da literatura para compreender o objeto de estudo e gerar uma base de referência teórica capaz de suportar a pesquisa e evidenciar as principais definições e conceitos sobre os temas abordados. Através da aplicação de questionários fechados, variáveis qualitativas foram adaptadas para representar séries quantitativas, possibilitando uma análise mais objetiva de aspectos subjetivos da natureza humana. Desta forma foi possível mensurar e classificar as lacunas entre a percepção dos empregados e o comportamento desejado com relação a aspectos de SMS. Os resultados foram apresentados de forma gráfica, demonstrando o percentual de alinhamento do grupo pesquisado com relação ao SMS e seus subitens. Também foi realizada uma análise comparativa dos resultados entre os diferentes cargos pesquisados. A pesquisa concluiu que existem lacunas entre os comportamentos desejados e a percepção aferida pelos empregados. Para a amostra analisada, foi verificado que o subitem segurança apresenta o maior grau de alinhamento, em segundo lugar vem o subitem meio ambiente e, por último, o subitem saúde.
