Resumo: | One of the purposes of this study is to perform a brief investigation on culture as a possible basis for analysis and conceiving of the multiple fragmentations of social issues. We start with the presupposition that manifestations such as Funk have contributed to point out the intense fragmentation process that has characterized the contemporary socio-cultural dynamics. The actual interpretation of Funk culture may be considered as a way to express the daily reality of its social actors, the so-called socially excluded, i.e., those who were forgotten and despised by the society. However ironic it may seem, these individuals have found in music a way to depict their social condition with either aggressiveness or exacerbation of their sexuality. The understanding of this study will be done by the analysis of lyrics of Funk songs from the 90s. It is noteworthy that this rhythm has a black origin and its initial basis was the political manifestation known as Black Pride. It is common knowledge that currently in Rio de Janeiro, although the Funk movement has lost its political appeal, it is recognized as black people's music and is particularly associated to poor people. |
