Resumo: This dissertation colects data of the exhibitions to the mineral dusts with sílica percentile significant crystalline free. Such concentrations, present in the environments where are developed the lapidation activities of ornamental stones, cause a disease denominated silicose, one of the most harmful among the occupational diseases. In the end of this study of case, are proposed procedures attenuate the concentrations of these particles in the environments, through measured of safety at work, about personal hygiene, environment and individual protection, as well as, is introduced a project of local ventilation exhauster, to reduce the dusts concentrations in these ambient

Tais concentrações, presentes nos ambientes onde são desenvolvidas as atividades de lapidação de pedras ornamentais, são causadoras da doença denominada silicose, uma das mais prejudiciais dentre as doenças ocupacionais.
