Resumo: Voice aging, also known as presbyphonia, consists in the deterioration of speech resulting from anatomical and physiological changes associated with aging. This dissertation aims to study of acoustic parameters extracted from the human voice, which may be used to characterize it as an aged voice. A comparison involving speech signal, electroglottographic signal, and glottal signal (obtained from speech signal by means of an inverse filtering) was performed. Voices were recorded from male and female speakers, in good health conditions and various ages; and were divided in age groups named youngsters, adults, and seniors. As a result of this study, modifications in acoustical parameters of voice, related to the chronological age of speakers, were identified. As an application of the study, a neural network was used to classify the ages, based on acoustical parameters of voice

Esta dissertação tem por objetivo realizar um estudo sobre parâmetros acústicos, extraídos da voz humana, que possibilitam caracterizar uma voz como envelhecida. Foi realizada uma comparação entre o sinal de voz, o sinal eletroglotográfico (EGG) e o sinal glotal (obtido a partir do sinal de voz por meio de filtragem inversa). Foram gravadas vozes de locutores masculinos e femininos, em bom estado de saúde física, de diversas idades e divididos, de acordo com a faixa etária, em grupos denominados jovens, adultos e idosos. Como resultado deste estudo, identificaram-se modificações nos parâmetros acústicos da voz, relacionados com a idade cronológica dos locutores.
