Resumo: This article presents an overview of critical editions as a stepping tool for working with texts, in so far they result from an approach of the textual documentation and give elements for the development of other works. In the relationship between critical editions and archives not only do the former ones benefit from the latter ones, but editions themselves are the constitution of archives.
