Resumo: In this text the biolinguistic model is presented and discussed, according to Givón (2002). This model presents confluence points with linguistic variation and change model (LABOV, 1972; 1994; 2001). The relation between the two models provides a socio-biolinguistic analysis, arising from an evolutionary approach of linguistic change.
