Resumo: | This paper aims to consider the fundamental relationship between melancholy and trauma in today’s artistic and literary life, and to stress the role of sacrifice as a ritual which has been inscribed in the creation process since Modernity. These contemporary frames for aesthetic invention may be processed respectively by allegory and the perception of abjection as correlated modes of fictional production. The paper draws on Bataille´s view of sacrifice to discuss the novels of three significant writers: the Chilean Roberto Bolaño, the Brazilian Marcelo Mirisola, and the American William Burroughs. |

Universidade Federal Fluminense2010-06-30info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionAvaliado pelos paresapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.uff.br/gragoata/article/view/3309710.22409/gragoata.v15i28.33097Gragoatá; Vol. 15 No. 28 (2010): Genre and NarrativityGragoatá; v. 15 n. 28 (2010): Gênero e narratividade2358-41141413-907310.22409/gragoata.v15i28reponame:Gragoatáinstname:Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF)instacron:UFFporhttps://periodicos.uff.br/gragoata/article/view/33097/19084Copyright (c) 2019 Gragoatáinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessDias, Ângela Maria2019-08-23T10:59:13Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/33097Revistahttps://periodicos.uff.br/gragoataPUBhttps://periodicos.uff.br/gragoata/oai||revistagragoata@gmail.com2358-41141413-9073opendoar:2019-08-23T10:59:13Gragoatá - Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF)false |
