Resumo: The issue of identity is a complex one. On the one hand, because it results from a crossing of gazes: the one of the communicating subject that seeks to build and to impose it on his partner, the interpreting subject, who can not prevent but assign, in turn, an identity to it in relation to his own assumptions. On the other hand, because we really want to avoid the trap of essentializing; every subject has the desire to see himself (or see the other) constituted with a unique identity, that is, an essence.---Original in French.
