Resumo: | In this paper, my aim is to investigate the significance of the problem of freedom in the context of the discussion between spiritualist tradition and experimental psychology. My goal is to demonstrate that the concept of mind as duration non-spatialized and as qualitative multiplicity is capable of supplying the obstacles to freedom that are established by experimental psychology. Therefore, I turn to the works of Henri Bergson and Farias Brito, in so far as recognized and positioned themselves in the face of the experimentalists’ purposes. The conclusion is that causality is not determination and therefore does not exclude freedom. |
