Resumo: | Ana Margarida de Carvalho is one of the most renowned writers of contemporary Portuguese literature. In order to contribute to the critical studies about her work, this paper intends the reading of one of Pequenos delírios domésticos’ (2017) short stories, named “Última ceia”. Therefore, it is proposed as theoretical-critical support studies on the aesthetics of cruelty, as did Artaud (2006), Gomes (2004), Santos (2004), as well as other epistemological contributions. Furthermore, it is also our intend support our reading in the conjectures that Martins (2015) made about literature as “social and human commitment” (p. 18) and the possible relations that this approach might establish with the writing of cruelty. |

Com o objetivo de contribuir para a fortuna crítica da autora, este trabalho pretende a leitura de um de seus contos, a narrativa intitulada “Última ceia”, presente na coletânea Pequenos delírios domésticos (2017). Para tal, propõe-se como apoio teórico-crítico os estudos a respeito da estética da crueldade, tal como fizeram Artaud (2006), Gomes (2004), Santos (2004), bem como outras contribuições epistemológicas.
