Msaho’s poetic argumentation

Virgílio de Lemos, a Mozambican writer born in 1929, was one of the creators of the literary magazine Msaho. With a single issue published in 1952, it was soon banned by the International Defense Police of the State – the PIDE – censorship that contemplated the then Portuguese colony. The poet, however, kept his editorial writing, interspersing this elaboration with one of his heteronyms: Bruno dos Reis. The purpose of this study is to observe some of these opinion texts that reveal metaphorical and political presentations about the main objectives of the leaf, as well as some poems that dialogue with the magazine. Present in the anthology Jogos de Prazer (2009), organized by Ana Mafalda Leite, the selected texts propose a reflection on the literature of the time and on the Mozambican nation under construction.
