Resumo: This article aims to clarify the creation process of Mia Couto through the story “Nas águas do tempo”. Our journey begins to conceive this narrati­ve as a prose poem in which we will explore some compositional forms used by the Mozambican writer. We also intend to show off through his formative consciousness the act of creation and the permanency’s place of Mozambican traditions.
