Resumo: The article examines some of the different ways in which error manifests itself in the work of Fernando Pessoa. Initially, we discuss certain prose texts by the author in which this notion appears. Right after that, the reflection focuses on some of his poems, especially those destined to the unfinished drama in verse Faust, in which the correlated notion of erring is also inscribed. Finally, we consider the extent to which principles such as perfection/ imperfection, associated with the notion of error, illuminate fundamental tensions in Pessoa’s poetics.
