Resumo: This study deals with the early years of the Journal Ler Historia, directed by Miriam Halpern Pereira, in the 1980s. It is a democratic, pluralistic periodical that reflects the anxieties and desires of the time when it was created. During the period of study it was directed by Miriam Halpern Pereira, being umbilically linked to ISCTE, but always commercially edited, first by Editora Salamandra and later by Teorema. It had a quarterly periodicity and several sections, such as that of Studies, that of Critiques and debates and of recensions, but also of documents, not forgetting, from a certain moment, O Espelho de Clio, reunited, between 1988 and 1989 Seventeen testimonies of historians, studied in the second part of this work, since the first one realizes an analysis of contents of the history of the historiography of theoretical reflection like subjects approached in the periodical during the seventies of the 20th century.

Este estudo debruça-se sobre os primeiros anos da revista Ler História, durante a década de 1980, dirigida por Miriam Halpern Pereira. Trata-se de um periódico democrático, pluralista, que repercute as inquietações e anseios da época em que foi criado. Durante o período em estudo foi dirigido por Miriam Halpern Pereira, estando umbilicalmente ligado ao ISCTE, mas sempre editado comercialmente nos anos em análise, primeiro pela editora Regra do Jogo e depois pela Salamandra e pela Teorema.
