Psychoanalysis, hermeneutics and the problem of sense: Ricoeur as reader of Freud

Resumo: In this article, I reflect on the philosophical reading of Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalysis developed by Paul Ricoeur, particularly with regard to the problem of sense and its implications for the phenomenon of history. To this end, I employ hermeneutics as a method and focus on the work Freud and philosophy: an essay on interpretation (1965) in order to understand the possible analogies identified by Ricoeur between the psychoanalytic approach and hermeneutical work. Furthermore, I interpose Ricoeur’s appropriation and Lacan’s interpretation of Freud. Finally, I investigate the Ricoeurian dialectics between the archeology of subject and the Hegelian teleology of conscience.

Para tanto, lanço mão da hermenêutica como método e me concentro na obra Da interpretação: ensaios sobre Freud de 1965, a fim de compreender as possíveis analogias identificadas por Ricoeur entre a abordagem psicanalítica e o trabalho hermenêutico. Além disso, realizo uma contraposição entre a apropriação ricoeuriana de Freud e a interpretação feita por Lacan.
