For an erotics of history: Essay on possibilities and limits in the dialogues between history and psychoanalysis

Resumo: The article, written in in the format of an essay, problematizes the conditions of interaction between psychoanalytic knowledge and historical discipline. Although they share similar historical milestones, this dialogue has rarely been evident. The formulations by Sigmund Freud (1856-139), now understood as an ethics, due to disputes that carved the university discourse, throughout the 20th century, were gradually removed from historical and historiographical discussions. Although one of the fundamental aporias of history as a scientific discipline is the more precise understanding of the relationships between the individual and social dimensions, reflections that consider the possible contributions of psychoanalysis in this sense are rare. The argument, briefly developed here, states that, by making such relationships more complex, the categories derived from works of Freud may assist in the recovery of erotic aspects of historical experience and their forms of representation by different subjects.

Embora compartilhem de marcos de historicidade semelhantes, raramente esse diálogo ocorreu de maneira evidente. As formulações de Sigmund Freud (1856-1939), ora entendidas como uma ética, por força de disputas que conformaram o discurso universitário, ao longo do século XX, foram gradativamente afastadas das discussões históricas e historiográficas. Ainda que uma das aporias fundamentais da história como disciplina científica seja a compreensão mais precisa das relações entre as dimensões individuais e sociais, são raras as reflexões que consideram as possíveis contribuições da psicanálise neste sentido.
