Resumo: This study aims to propose an opening of history towards psychoanalysis, specifically through the notion of paranoia. This traditional concept is in construction since the Freudian circle, with the famous case of President Schreber. In the twentieth century, the discussion appears in the works of Theodor Adorno, Max Horkheimer, Gilles Deleuze until the millennial Slavoj Zizek. Reconstructing this concept for these philosophers, psychoanalysts and sociologists, we can rework the accumulation generated its uses in historiography. Richard Hofstadter, who had coined the term paranoid style, started this trend on the side of history and brought political gains. It is up to this article do develop it, but not as a projection – notion very close to paranoia – to interpret other historical or social formations. But to rethink other critical models for historiography in the tension between pathology and truth, the very antinomy of paranoia.

But to rethink other critical models for historiography in the tension between pathology and truth, the very antinomy of paranoia.
