Nursing care in health surveillance service

Resumo: | The health surveillance service, similar to nursing, has its origin justified by the worries with people’s health. Despite of being quite relevant the nurse contribution for the health surveillance service, this service keeps less known by the nursery professionals of the area. This study has the purpose to show the context of the health surveillance service while possibility in nursery care, contributing to the visualization of this service as an acting field of community health nursing. For all that, it was opted by the use of study case methods as qualitative approach. The subjects are those nurses that work in the health surveillance service department – Goiânia, as Public Health Inspectors. The study was been made in the period of November/2005 to November/2006. The collected data were worked using the content analyses proposed by Bardin, in order to identify the “matter nucleus” present in people’s communication. The results evidence that the comprehension of the meaning care at nursing, the identification of this care at the health surveillance service and the construction of the nurse professional identity who acts in this service keep a narrow relation and are intimately related to the academic and professional formation of the nurse. Professionals as referring to previous experience in the Public Health area, identifying easily the nursing care in the health surveillance service, due to of collective character of this service. |

A pesar de ser de gran relevancia la contribución del enfermero para el servicio de vigilancia sanitaria, ese servicio permanece poco conocido por los profesionales de enfermería. Ese estudio tiene como objetivo describir el contexto del servicio de vigilancia sanitaria como posibilidad del cuidado en enfermería, contribuyendo para la visualización de ese servicio como campo de actuación de enfermería en salud comunitaria. Por esto, se optó por la utilización de un método de investigación de estudio de caso con un abordaje cualitativo. Los sujetos son los enfermeros que trabajan en el departamento de vigilancia sanitaria, como fiscales de salud pública. El estudio fue realizado en el periodo de noviembre de 2005 hasta noviembre de 2006. Los datos colectados fueron trabajados utilizándose el análisis de contenido propuesto por Bardin, visando identificar los “núcleos temáticos” presentes en la comunicación de los sujetos. Los resultados han evidenciado que la comprensión del cuidado en enfermería, la identificación de ese cuidado en el servicio de vigilancia sanitaria y la construcción de la propia identidad profesional del enfermero que actúa en este servicio mantienen una relación estrecha entre si y, también, están íntimamente relacionadas a la formación académica y profesional del enfermero. Profesionales que refieren experiencia anterior en la area de salud publica identifican más facilmente el cuidado en enfermería en lo servicio de vigilancia sanitaria, gracias al carácter colectivo de ese servicio.O serviço de vigilância sanitária, semelhante à enfermagem, tem sua origem justificada pela preocupação com a saúde dos indivíduos. Apesar da relevância da contribuição do enfermeiro para o serviço de vigilância sanitária, esse permanece pouco conhecido pelos profissionais da enfermagem. Esse estudo busca descrever o contexto do serviço de vigilância sanitária enquanto possibilidade do cuidado em enfermagem, permitindo sua visualização como campo de atuação da enfermagem. Para tanto, optou-se pelo método de estudo de caso com abordagem qualitativa. Os sujeitos são os enfermeiros que atuam no Departamento de Vigilância Sanitária - Goiânia, como Fiscais de Saúde Pública. O estudo foi realizado no período de novembro/2005 a novembro/2006. Os dados coletados foram trabalhados utilizando-se a análise de conteúdo proposta por Bardin, identificando “núcleos temáticos” na comunicação dos sujeitos. Os resultados evidenciam que a compreensão do cuidado em enfermagem, a identificação desse cuidado no serviço de vigilância sanitária e a construção da identidade profissional do enfermeiro que atua nesse serviço guardam relação entre si e estão relacionadas à formação acadêmica e profissional do enfermeiro.
