OCCURRENCE OF PARASITIC DISEASES IN CHILDREN ASSISTED AT THE FAMILY HEALTH PROGRAM OF A VESPASIANO CITY DISTRICT, MINAS GERAIS, BRAZIL

Resumo: | ABSTRACT: The greatest copro-parasitological researches were developed until the 70´s in Brazil. In despite of the intestinal parasites are very important, because constitutes a severe problem to public health, contributing to the aggravation of the social, economical and medical problems. Thus, the objective of this study was to verify the occurrence of the most frequent enteroparasites among children (0-10 years old), in the Health Family Program (PSF) area situated in the district of Morro Alto in Vespasiano city, state of Minas Gerais,Brazil. It was analyzed 3250 handbook indexes of three PSF units. The general occurrence was 18.4% positive and some children have more than one parasite. The most founded enteroparasitos was Giardia lamblia (43%), Ascaris lumbricoides (34%) and Entamoeba coli (13%). The 6 to 8 ages shows the highest incidence of children with parasites. The data collected to this project evidenced that Vespasiano-city doesn’t have related researches to parasites, justifying the importance of this study and its results offers subsidies for elaboration of municipal public health policies for childhood and youth. Sin embargo, los parásitos intestinales son muy importantes, una vez constituyen un severo problema de Salud Pública, contribuyendo al agravamiento de los problemas sociales, económicos y médicos. Así, el objetivo de este estudio fue verificar la ocurrencia de los enfermedades parasitarias más frecuentes entre los niños (0-10 años), en el área del programa de Salud de la Familia (PSF) situada en el barrio de Morro Alto en la ciudad de Vespasiano, estado de Minas Gerais, Brasil. Fuera analizado 3250 prontuarios de tres unidades de PSF. La ocurrencia general era 18.4% positivos y algunos niños tienen más de un parásito. Los parasitas intestinales encontrados fueran Giardia lamblia (43%), Ascaris lumbricoides (34%) y Entamoeba coli (13%). Las edades de 6 a 8 años demostraron la más alta incidencia de niños con los parásitos. Los datos colectados en esto proyecto evidenciaron que la ciudad de Vespasiano no tiene estudios relacionado a los parasitas, justificando así, la importancia de este estudio y de sus resultados ofrecen subsidios para la elaboración de políticas municipales de salud pública para la niñez y la juventud. Apesar disto, as parasitoses intestinais são de grande importância, uma vez que constituem graves problemas de saúde pública, contribuindo para o agravamento de problemas econômicos, sociais e médicos. Por esta razão, o presente trabalho objetivou verificar a ocorrência dos enteroparasitos mais freqüentes entre cianças (0-10 anos) cadastradas e residentes na área de abrangência do Programa de Saúde da Família (PSF) do bairro Morro Alto em Vespasiano, estado de Minas Gerais, Brasil. Foram analisados 3250 prontuários de três unidades de PSF. A ocorrência geral de enteroparasitoses foi de 18,4%, sendo que algumas crianças se apresentavam poliparasitadas. Os enteroparasitos mais frequentes foram Giardia lamblia (43%), Ascaris lumbricoides (34%) e Entamoeba coli (13%). A faixa etária de 6 a 8 anos foi a que apresentou um maior número de indivíduos parasitados. A coleta de dados para este projeto evidenciou que o município não possui levantamentos sobre a ocorrência de parasitoses, justificando com isso a importância desse estudo uma vez que seus resultados oferecem subsídios para a elaboração de políticas municipais de saúde pública voltados à infância e juventude.
