Resumo: In this paper we sought to report the therapeutic interaction developed with a psyche suffering female patient developed in a Psychiatric Institute in Western region of Paraná state – Brazil, from 4th to 28th August, 2000. It also aims to establish a therapeutic help relationship and to provide the patient’s basic human needs. Seven interviews based on TRAVELBEE (1979) were used, and also two home visits. Based on HORTA’s propositions (1979), it was possible to identify the basic human needs which were used to intervene in the patient’s treatment. The analysis shows the patient’s problems and the comprehension of the factors that led her to the disease.

RESUMEN: En esto rata-se un relato de la internación terapéutico con una paciente con sufrimiento psíquico que fue realizado junto a una institución psiquiátrico de la región oeste del Paraná, durante el periodo de 04 hasta 08 de agosto de 2000. Teniendo como objetivo establecer una relación de ayuda terapéutica y atender las necesidades humanas básicas (aquí-ahora) de la paciente. Siete entrevistas basadas en TRAVELBEE (1979) fueron utilizadas, y también dos visitas domiciliarias. Se utiliza de siete necesidades humanas básicas afectadas según las propuestas de HORTA (1979), buscando intervenir junto al paciente. El análisis destaca los problemas presentados por la paciente, la compresión de los factores que desencadenaron la enfermedad. TERMINOS CLAVES: Relación de ayuda terapéutica; enfermería; salud mental.Neste texto tratamos sobre um relato da interação terapêutica desenvolvida com uma paciente em sofrimento psíquico, realizado junto a uma instituição psiquiátrica na região Oeste do Paraná, no período de 04 a 24 de agosto de 200. Tendo como objetivos estabelecer um relacionamento de ajuda terapêutica e atender as necessidades humanas básicas (aqui - agora) da paciente. Utilizou-se de sete entrevistas conforme TRAVELBEE (1979) e duas visitas domiciliares. Foram identificadas as necessidades humanas básicas afetadas segundo a proposta de HORTA (1979), buscando intervir junto à paciente. A análise destaca os problemas apresentados pela paciente, e a compreensão dos fatores que desencadearam a doença.
