Resumo: | ABSTRACT: This descriptive study identified the stress factors of the parturition process. It was developed by an individual interview with 42 puerperal women whose has had abnormal childbirth in a public maternity ward in Goiânia-GO, Brazil. We concluded that the factors that cause stress are related with the environment, the assistance, and the parturition physiology. The environment factors that caused stress, due to characteristics of infirmary of pre childbirth were the no privacy (50%) and the collective bathroom (31%); by the assistance were related the gynecology exam (62%) and the epsiorraphy (45%); and by the parturition physiology, were related the uterine contraction (90%), the tiredness (74%), the ache at the sacral and lumbar region (71%) and the repose necessity (74%). In short, the nurse must know and comprehend the social and cultural, environmental, aid and parturition physiology factors, responsible for the stress of the parturition process, to promote human and total obstetric assistance. Se Realizó una entrevista individual con 42 parturientas que tuvieron parto normal en una maternidad pública de Goiânia-GO, Brasil. Se Constató que los factores causantes de estrés están relacionados con el ambiente, la asistencia y la fisiología del parto. Como factor causante de estrés relacionado al ambiente fue referida las características de la enfermería de pré-parto, como la falta de privacidad (50%) y baño colectivo (31%); en la asistencia fue referido el toque vaginal (62%) y la epsiorrafia (45%) y cuanto la fisiología de la parturición fue referida la contracción uterina (90%), la fatiga (74%), el dolor en la región lumbar y sacral (71%) y la necesidad de reposo (74%). Se Concluyó que el enfermero debe conocer y comprender los factores socioculturales, ambientales, asistencial y de la fisiología del parto, causantes de estrés en el proceso del parto, a fin de promover asistencia obstétrica humanizada e integral. Realizou-se uma entrevista individual com 42 puérperas que tiveram parto normal em uma maternidade pública de Goiânia-GO, Brasil. Constatou-se que os fatores causadores de estresse estão relacionados com o ambiente, a assistência e a fisiologia da parturição. Como fator causador de estresse relacionado ao ambiente foi referida as características da enfermaria de pré-parto, como a falta de privacidade (50%) e banheiro coletivo (31%); na assistência foi referido o toque vaginal (62%) e a epsiorrafia (45%) e quanto a fisiologia da parturição foi referida a contração uterina (90%), a fadiga (74%), a dor na região lombar e sacral (71%) e a necessidade de repouso (74%). Concluiu-se que o enfermeiro deve conhecer e compreender os fatores socioculturais, ambientais, assistenciais e da fisiologia da parturição, causadores de estresse no processo de parturição, a fim de promover assistência obstétrica humanizada e integral.
