Resumo: ABSTRACT This research has gone for understanding that the perception of the members from Obstetrical Center group is, regarding the necessities of interned woman for parturition in a hospital titled as Child’s Friend and Safe Maternity. The population examined comprehended seven members from nursing staff of Obstetrical Center, a nurse, an accoucheuse and five nursing assistants. To collect the data it was used the technic of semi-structured interview and the proposition of observation-participation-reflection recommended by LEININGER (1991). The data collected were registered in a daybook and recorded in an audiotape. For analysis it was taken into consideration the proposition of BARDIN (1977). Following the communicators’ view, it was noticed that the necessities presented for the parturient women were: attention, kidness, dialogue, companion, guidance, and explanation. The results show the importance on give opportunity to nursing staff to produce new acquirements, or even to confirm the ones that have already pointed out in the nursing field. KEY WORDS: nursing, care, humanization, attendance.Este estudo buscou entender a percepção dos membros da equipe de enfermagem do Centro Obstétrico, acerca das necessidades da mulher internada para parto em um hospital com os títulos de Amigo da Criança e Maternidade Segura. A população em estudo compôs-se de sete membros da equipe de enfermagem do Centro Obstétrico sendo uma enfermeira, uma parteira e cinco auxiliares de enfermagem. Para a coleta dos dados utilizou-se a técnica da entrevista semi-estruturada e a proposta de observação-participação-reflexão recomendada por LEININGER (1991). Os dados foram registrados em diário de campo e gravados em audiotape. Para a análise considerou-se a proposta de BARDIN (1977). Constatou-se segundo a ótica das comunicantes que as necessidades apresentadas pelas parturientes são: atenção, carinho, diálogo, acompanhante, orientação, e esclarecimento. Os resultados demonstram a importância de dar “voz” à equipe de enfermagem para a construção de novos conhecimentos, ou mesmo, à afirmação de conhecimentos já apontados na área da enfermagem.
