Avaliação Físico-Química da Qualidade da água na bacia hidrográfica do Santo Antônio: Aparecida de Goiânia/GO

Resumo: The city of Aparecida de Goiânia/GO is about 11 Km from the capital Goiania, it has a total area approximately 292 km, with an altitude of 808 meters being the second biggest city in population from the State of Goias. The population growth, according to the IBGE census, in the time from 1996 to 2004, it has been 51%, which consequently took also to the demand of natural resources growth making bigger the environmental impacts because of the use and the occupation of the urban environment. The river Santo Antonio is the main way for draining in the city of Aparecida de Goiania, it gets an extension of approximately 28,33 Km and cross the city, flowing into the River Meia Ponte. The basin of the river Santo Antonio, area where this research has been done, represents about 54% from the total area of the city, being basically all urban area. The alterations in the quality of the water of the river Santo Antonio were observed by the sample of the water in 11 spots georeferenced selected along on the basin s place at the rainy and droughts period. The selection of the points of sample, happened to start from the analyses of the following criteria s: launching of the effluent along on the basin s place, incidence of tributary on the net of the drainage, possible sources of pollution, identified from the evaluation of the use and occupation of the ground and accessibility of the points selected. It has being determined 11 physical-chemical parameter: pH, electrical conductivity total melted solids, colour, turbity, dioxide of carbon, alkalinity, nitrate, clorets, ammonium and salinity. The parameters analysed during the at the rainy and droughts period, showed the variation of the quality of the water of the River Santo Antonio, indicating the direct influence of the using process and occupation of the ground. This evaluation of the quality of the water takes us to a complex reflexion about the antropic action in the physical middle. The selected points in areas with the bigger urban occupation or close to the activities that demonstrate bigger polluting potential, demonstrate quantitivictly bigger values in the quality s parameters evaluated, in comparison to the selected points close to the source s area. Some parameters overtake the recommended values for the legislation. The dates made can be used to subsidize the elaboration and execution of the public political of the environmental management, working as a base to take the decision and definition of the strategic environmental planning of the city

O crescimento populacional do município, segundo o censo do IBGE, no período de 1996 a 2004, foi de 51%, o que, conseqüentemente, levou ao crescimento da demanda por recursos naturais, intensificando os impactos ambientais gerados pelo uso e ocupação do ambiente urbano. O córrego Santo Antônio é a principal drenagem de Aparecida de Goiânia; possui extensão aproximada de 28,33 km e atravessa o município, desaguando no Rio Meia Ponte. A bacia hidrográfica do córrego Santo Antônio, área dessa pesquisa, representa cerca de 54 % da área total do município, contendo praticamente toda a área urbana. As alterações na qualidade das águas do córrego Santo Antônio foram observadas pela amostragem de água em 11 pontos georeferenciados, selecionados ao longo da bacia no período chuvoso e seco. A seleção dos pontos de amostragem deu-se a partir da análise dos seguintes critérios: lançamentos de efluentes ao longo da bacia, incidência de tributários na rede de drenagem, possíveis fontes de poluição identificadas pela avaliação do uso e ocupação do solo e acessibilidade dos pontos selecionados. Foram determinados 11 parâmetros físico-químicos: pH, condutividade elétrica, sólidos totais dissolvidos, cor, turbidez, dióxido de carbono, alcalinidade, nitrato, cloreto, amônio e salinidade. Esses parâmetros foram analisados durante os períodos seco e chuvoso, demonstraram a variação da qualidade da água do córrego Santo Antônio, indicando a influência direta do processo de uso e ocupação do solo. Esta avaliação da qualidade da água gera uma complexa reflexão sobre a ação antrópica no meio físico. Os pontos selecionados em áreas com maior ocupação urbana ou próximos a atividades que apresentam maior potencial poluidor, demonstraram, quantitativamente, maiores valores nos parâmetros de qualidade avaliados, em comparação aos pontos selecionados próximos a área de nascente. Em alguns casos os valores recomendados pela legislação foram ultrapassados.
