Resumo: The aim of this study is to investigate to what extent Brazilian federal deputies’ backgrounds influences their behavior in the legislative arena, more specifically, the variation in their conduct in the nominal voting in the Chamber of Deputies during the period that corresponds to the 54th legislature. Beyond this, owing to a methodological choice and given the limitation of this research, the social background that interests us is that which, and according to selected criteria, would be connected to the health sector. The result of the tabular analysis between the variables shows that the health background is not a predictor of behavior of political actors.
