Resumo: The dengue fever, transmitted by the mosquito Aedes aegypti, is of one of the most important vector-borne diseases in the world. Since there is no vaccine, the main way to control this disease is by combating the vector, which is mainly made with chemicals. However, with the emergence of resistant mosquito populations the interest in integrated control increased. Biopesticides based on entomopathogenic fungi are good alternatives to incorporate this policy to combat. Formulations protect fungal propagules against abiotic factors and are specific to the target vector. Culicinomyces clavisporus possesses specificity to dipteran larvae and their hosts infected orally get. Therefore, formulation of this fungus should contain palatable adjuvants, thus ensuring the ingestion by the larvae. This study evaluated the activity of conidia of C. clavisporus on larvae of A. aegypti, the preparation and evaluation of cellulose pellets formulated with or without adjuvant (10 or 20% soy flour) and / or conidia of C. clavisporus, and the viability of conidia exposed to different temperatures. The pellets without conidia were evaluated for stability in water and the ability to promote the development of larvae, while pellets with conidia were evaluated regarding their larvicidal activity. The results showed that concentrations ≥ 105 conidia / ml were sufficient to kill all of the larvae. Pellets containing 10% soybean flour seem to be ideal for fungal formulation and application, they disintegrate in water and do not promote a rapid development of larvae. However, pellets formulated with conidia had no larvicidal effect, which can be explained by a possible inviability of conidia by heat during the drying process

Submitted by Luciana Ferreira (lucgeral@gmail.com) on 2016-08-22T14:05:55Z No. of bitstreams: 2 Dissertação - Juscelino Rodrigues Filho- 2014.pdf: 2193889 bytes, checksum: 72728e54cda6c10730d70bfd23c4ff88 (MD5) license_rdf: 0 bytes, checksum: d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e (MD5)Approved for entry into archive by Luciana Ferreira (lucgeral@gmail.com) on 2016-08-22T14:08:08Z (GMT) No. of bitstreams: 2 Dissertação - Juscelino Rodrigues Filho- 2014.pdf: 2193889 bytes, checksum: 72728e54cda6c10730d70bfd23c4ff88 (MD5) license_rdf: 0 bytes, checksum: d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2016-08-22T14:08:08Z (GMT).
