This research proposes to understand the collaborative spaces of innovation promotion, the makerspaces, and how their use can represent an innovative experience in Design and Architecture project processes. The aim of this study is to think on how makerspaces can contribute as spaces of renovation and experimentation of design processes, with their applicability in Design and Architecture. It also seeks to understand the role of makerspaces, highlighting their potentials as from the experiments developed in these spaces, and their ability to promote design processes. When developing rapid prototypes, which aim to demonstrate how such space can be important in design processes at the scales of Architecture and Design, object design and wrapper architecture. The research unfolds in two moments: the first, in a qualitative way, a bibliographic review and the observation of built spaces of the makerspaces type are carried out. In the second, physical and digital prototypes are implemented, through experimental research, analyzing subjective issues inherent to contemporary design processes, their relationship with the technologies available in makerspaces and their attempts at technological innovation. Therefore, the organization of the research starts from both the bibliographic review (books, theses, dissertations, papers) and documental (standards and documents), aiming at understanding the processes of some Design and Architecture offices and their subsequent experimental reproduction. It is expected that the results obtained with this research can contribute to the theoretical debate about the project processes in design and architecture and their possible consequences. Furthermore, to contribute to the improvement of the contents and methodologies adopted in the creative processes by Design and Architecture professionals.
