CATHOLIC EDUCATION OF ITALO-BRAZILIAN CHILDHOOD IN COLOMBO-PARANA (1915 – 1965)

Resumo: The purpose of this article includes a discussion about the childhood in the city of Colombo/Parana, between 1915 and 1965, covering education thematics, Italian immigration and Catholic congregations. From this context, we aim to list the educational actions beyond the school walls that the Passionist Fathers, together with female congregations, proposed to childhood. We used as sources the Book Tombo from The Mother Church, a letter from Colombo’s parishioners addressed to the bishop of Curitiba, as well as photographs and newspapers analyzed not only through the prism of the representation of this institution, but also on how it had to adapt to the place to produce. It is clear that the Church and the community, supported by ethnic characteristics, worked together, designing and expanding actions for the Catholic educational formation of the childhood. Catholic Congregations.El propósito de este artículo abarca una discusión sobre la infancia en la ciudad de Colombo/PR, entre 1915 y 1965, incluyendo temas de la educación, inmigración italiana y congregaciones católicas. Desde este contexto, pretendemos enumerar las acciones educativas allá de los muros de las escuelas que los Curas Pasionistas, junto a las congregaciones femeninas, proponían a la infancia. Utilizamos como fuentes el libro “Tombo de la Iglesia Matriz”, una carta de feligreses colombenses dirigida al obispo de Curitiba, así como fotografías y periódicos, analizados no solo por el prisma de las representaciones de esta institución pero como ella tuvo que adaptarse al lugar y producir. Se puede mirar que Iglesia y comunidad, amparadas en características étnicas, trabajaron juntas, proyectando y ampliando acciones para la formación educativa católica de la infancia.  PALABRAS CLAVE: Educación Católica. Congregaciones Católicas.O propósito deste artigo abarca uma discussão sobre a infância da cidade de Colombo/PR, entre 1915 e 1965, perpassando temáticas da educação, imigração italiana e congregações católicas. A partir deste contexto, objetivamos elencar quais as ações educacionais, além dos muros escolares, que os Padres Passionistas, em conjunto com congregações femininas, propuseram à infância. Utilizamos como fontes o Livro Tombo da Igreja Matriz, uma carta de paroquianos colombenses destinada ao Bispo de Curitiba, além de fotografias e jornais, analisados não só pelo prisma das representações desta instituição, mas também em como ela precisou se adaptar ao lugar e produzir. Percebe-se que Igreja e comunidade, amparadas em características étnicas, trabalharam juntas, projetando e ampliando ações para a formação educacional católica da infância.  PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Educação Católica.
