Resumo: The aim of the study is to understand how the Physical Education professional was inserted in the teams of the Family Health Support Centers in the city of Santos-SP and how its work has been developing. It is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach in which three Physical Education professionals participated as volunteers. A semi-structured interview was carried out and the data were analyzed through content analysis. As a result, Physical Education professionals in Santos-SP work in the spheres of health promotion and prevention. The implementation of professional practice assessment is an important challenge. Thus, it is possible to conclude that the work developed is in line with the guidelines of the Family Health Support Centers.

Se trata de una investigación descriptiva con enfoque cualitativo en la que participaron como voluntarios tres profesionales de la Educación Física. Se realizó una entrevista semiestructurada y los datos se analizaron mediante análisis de contenido. Como resultado, los profesionales de Educación Física de Santos-SP trabajan en los ámbitos de la promoción y prevención de la salud. La implementación de la evaluación de la práctica profesional es un desafío importante. Así, es posible concluir que el trabajo desarrollado está en línea com las pautas de los Centros de Apoyo a la Salud de la Familia. O objetivo do estudo consiste em compreender como se deu a inserção do profissional de Educação Física nas equipes dos Núcleos de Apoio à Saúde da Família na cidade de Santos-SP e como tem se dado essa atuação. Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva de abordagem qualitativa da qual três profissionais de Educação Física participaram como voluntários. Foi feita uma entrevista semiestruturada e os dados foram analisados por meio da análise de conteúdo. Como resultado, os profissionais de Educação Física de Santos-SP atuam nas esferas da promoção e prevenção da saúde. A implementação de avaliação da prática profissional constitui um desafio importante. Assim, é possível concluir que o trabalho desenvolvido encontra-se alinhado às diretrizes dos Núcleos de Apoio à Saúde da Família.
