Resumo: This research work presents a preliminary discussion focussing on the possibilites of gymnastics as a leisure experience and its relation to society. It also addresses the way through which gymnastics has gained ground in gyms, expanding as a consumption product. This text points to the need of searching for a pleasant excitemente in gymnastics, which is necessary for it to be pleasing and fun, by locating the playful component in it. As such, this text hopes to aid in the implementation of gymnastics in the field of leisure, although playfulness is not its only component. KEYWORDS: gymnastics – leisure – society

El texto señala la necesidad de buscar una excitación agradable en la gimnasia, necesaria para que ella se torne placentera, alegre, localizando en ella el componente lúdico. Así, se espera facilitar la inserción de la gimnasia en el campo del ocio, aunque la ludicidad no sea su único componente. PALABRAS-CLAVE: gimnasia – ocio – sociedadEste trabalho apresenta discussão preliminar, tendo como foco as possibilidades da ginástica como vivência no lazer e sua relação com a sociedade e aborda, também, a forma como a ginástica conquistou o espaço das academias, expandindo-se enquanto produto de consumo.
