Resumo: Electronic sports have become a relevant sport practice, both in their organization in the professional sphere, and in the issues that arise in the academic field. In these terms, the objective of the article was to present clues about the process of sportivization, commodification and spectacularization of e-Sports. To account for the research, we have gathered sources from the exploratory method to characterize the development of electronic games as a new sports practice, specifically as a sports subfield, raising historical data regarding its evolution as a social practice, having as theoretical support the contributions of the sociology of Pierre Bourdieu, allied to the analyzes of Anthony Giddens like point of complementary theoretical support.

En estos términos, el objetivo del artículo fue presentar indicios acerca del proceso de esportivización, mercantilización y espectacularización de los e-Sports. Para dar cuenta de la investigación, reunimos fuentes a partir del método exploratorio a caracterizar el desarrollo de los juegos electrónicos como una nueva práctica deportiva, específicamente como un subcampo deportivo, levantando datos históricos acerca de su evolución como práctica social, teniendo como soporte teórico las contribuciones de la sociología de Pierre Bourdieu, aliadas a los análisis de Anthony Giddens como punto de sustentación teórica complementariaOs esportes eletrônicos têm-se tornado uma prática esportiva relevante, tanto em sua organização na esfera profissional, quanto nas questões que desperta no âmbito acadêmico. Nesses termos, o objetivo do artigo foi apresentar indícios acerca do processo de esportivização, mercantilização e espetacularização dos e-Sports.
