Resumo: This text is an excerpt of a research developed within the scope of the Course Completion Work (TCC) of the graduation in Degree in Geography from the State University of Bahia (UNEB), Campus IX Serrinha, semi-arid region of Bahia, entitled: “Campo, city, urban and rural: concepts, representations and approaches in Geography textbooks”. For the present essay, we used the photographic records that are part of the methodological collection of the research to weave reflections from a theoretical contribution that deals with small towns, ruralities, photographs and the teaching of Geography. The reflections defend the insertion of the studentsꞌ daily spatial practices in the approaches of concepts and themes of Geography at school. Besides, the unique dynamics of the small town through the manifestations of ruralities that occur in it also explains its particularities in relation to medium and large cities, and its recognition in the context of teaching Geography, conceives other and different modes of understanding these spaces and of the ways of being of the who experience them. Teaching Geography.Ce texte est un extrait d'une recherche développée dans le cadre du Travail de fin de cours (TCC) du diplôme de premier cycle en géographie à l'Université d'État de Bahia (UNEB), campus XI, Serrinha, région semi-aride de Bahia, intitulé: “La Campagne, La ville, L'urbain et le rural: concepts, représentations et approches dans les manuels de géographie”. Pour le présent essai, nous avons utilisé les archives photographiques qui font partie de la collection méthodologique de la recherche pour tisser des réflexions à partir d'une contribution théorique qui traite des petites villes, des ruralités, des photographies et de l'enseignement de la géographie. Les réflexions défendent l'insertion des pratiques spatiales quotidiennes des élèves dans les approches des concepts et thèmes de Géographie à l'école. Par ailleurs, la dynamique singulière de la petite ville à travers les manifestations de *ruralités* qui s'y produisent explique aussi ses particularités par rapport aux moyennes et grandes villes, et sa reconnaissance dans le cadre de l'enseignement de la Géographie conçoit d'autres et différentes manières d'appréhender ces espaces et des manières d'être de ceux qui les vivent.  Mots-clés: Petite ville. Enseignement de la géographie.Este texto é um recorte de uma pesquisa desenvolvida no âmbito do Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (TCC) da Graduação em Licenciatura em Geografia da Universidade do Estado da Bahia (UNEB), campus XI, Serrinha, semiárido baiano, intitulada: “Campo, cidade, urbano e rural: conceitos, representações e abordagens nos livros didáticos de Geografia”. Para o presente ensaio, utilizamos os registros fotográficos que integram parte do acervo metodológico da pesquisa para tecer reflexões a partir de um aporte teórico que versa sobre as pequenas cidades, ruralidades, fotografias e o ensino de Geografia. As reflexões defendem a inserção das práticas espaciais cotidianas dos estudantes nas abordagens de conceitos e temas da Geografia na escola. Além disso, a dinâmica singular da cidade pequena mediante as manifestações das ruralidades que nela ocorrem explica também as suas particularidades em relação às médias e grandes cidades, e o seu reconhecimento no âmbito do ensino de Geografia concebe outros e diferentes modos de compreensão desses espaços e das maneiras de ser de quem os vivenciam.
