A REVOKED BIODIVERSITY IN THE RUIMARÃES ROSA’S WORK: THE FUTURE OF THE SERTÃO

Resumo O escritor João Guimarães Rosa, além de toda a elaboração estética, do significado mítico-místico e da profunda concepção psicológica de seus personagens, deixa transparecer também em sua obra uma preocupação sobre as questões socioambientais que envolvem o meio físico e social do Cerrado brasileiro. Este artigo se propõe a analisar extratos da obra roseana que expõem a rica biodiversidade deste bioma, a partir de trechos de livros, de considerações de críticos literários sobre o tema, análise das correspondências com seus tradutores e estudos sobre as cadernetas de viagem do autor. Em um segundo momento, pretende-se evidenciar alguns elementos do livro Primeiras Estórias que sugerem uma realidade até então nova para os leitores de Rosa: o aparecimento de uma grande cidade no meio do sertão. No contexto do conto “As margens da alegria” somos surpreendidos pela imagem da construção de uma cidade que, ao que tudo indica, representa Brasília. Assim, a biodiversidade e a vigorosa natureza do Cerrado descrita em grande parte dos livros do escritor passam a dar lugar ao traçado geométrico da futura capital federal, colocando em alerta aquele que seria dali em diante, um dos biomas mais ameaçados pelo modelo de desenvolvimento brasileiro. Palavras-chave: Guimarães Rosa, Cerrado, Biodiversidade, Modernização.   Abstract The writer João Guimarães Rosa, including all the aesthetic elaboration, the mythical and mystical meanings, and the deep psychological conception of his characters, he also reveals in his work a concern on social and environmental issues involving the physical and social environment of the Brazilian Cerrado. This article aims to analyze the extracts of Rosa work that presents the rich biodiversity of this savannah biome based on the excerpts of his books, as well as based on reviews of literature criticism on the subject, analysis of correspondences related to translations of his work, and studies of the author's comments files. As a second analytical step, it is highlighted some elements of the book, First Stories, which presents a new reality for Rosa’s readers: the emergence of a large town in the Sertão, a remote hinterland. In the context of his work, “On the edges of the happiness", the image of a built city, which seems to be Brasilia, catches the attention of the readers. Thus, the biodiversity and the vigorous nature of the Cerrado, described in almost all books of the writer, begin to be replaced by the description of the geometric layout and design of the Federal Capital, what would be from that moment on, one of the most threatened biomes of the world in reason of a Brazilian development model. Keywords: Guimarães Rosa, Brazilian savanna, Biodiversity, Modernization.   Résumé L’écrivian João Guimarães Rosa, au-delá de toute élaboration esthétique, la signification et mythique de la profonde conception phychologique de ses personnages, révèle également une préoccupation dans son travail sur les questions environmentales touchant l'environnement physique et social du cerrado brésilien. Cet article vise à analyser des extraits de l’œuvre de Rosa qui exposent la riche biodiversité de ce biome, basé sur des extraits de livres, des considérations de critiques littéraires sur le thème, l'analyse des lettres avec leurs traducteurs et d'études sur les cahiers de voyage de l'auteur. Dans une deuxième étape, nous avons l'intention de mettre en évidence certains éléments dans Primeiras Estórias qui suggèrent une réalité nouvelle jusq’au ce moment par les lectures de Rosa: l’émergence d’une grande ville dans le milieu de sertão. Dans le contexte de l'histoire "As margens da alegria" on est frappé par l’image de la contruction d’une ville qui, selon toute vraisemblance, c’est Brasilia. Ainsi, la nature de la biodiversité et la vigueur du cerrado cèdent son place à la conception géométrique de l'avenir de la capitale fédérale, en mettant en état d'alerte qu'il seraient désormais, un des biomes les plus menacées du modèle de développement du Brésil.
